An extended blogging absence (which includes the loss of my database) has reminded me of a blog’s value:

• Owning your own content. Social networking is okay, but content disappears as quickly as you post it.
• Having a home for thoughts that are truly yours.
• The unique freedom to spout off on your own turf.

We’ll see what comes of this.
